Kia ora koutou and welcome to my personal website. I’m all about research, teaching and diving headfirst into the fantastic world of knowledge.
My journey began with a big ol' appetite to understand how things work and why they tick. Now, I'm really excited to share this excitement with you all in this little corner of the internet. More specifically, my academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry with a Graduate Certificate in Education, followed by a master’s degree in biology from the University of the South Pacific. I continued to pursue my academic interests and completed my PhD in Environmental Toxicology at the University of Otago, New Zealand.
Teaching
I'm not the typical boring lecturer. No, not me! I am committed to promoting a student-centered approach to teaching and believe in adapting my teaching methods to individual learning needs. My approach is to create a supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and independent research skills.
In addition, my team and I are thrilled to offer affordable (student-discounted) academic proofreading services to students and academics. Please check out the tab on Proofreading services.
Research
Learning doesn't stop when the research is published. Oh no!
My research journey spans various fascinating areas, from delving into the fascinating world of environmental toxicology to unravelling the complex interplay of public perceptions and attitudes. But that's not all; I also have a keen interest in educational assessment and strive to uncover innovative approaches that promote better learning outcomes. And, of course, I couldn't resist addressing the pressing impacts of climate change as we face the challenges of a rapidly changing world. My mission is to contribute valuable insights into these diverse fields and to impart knowledge to communities and decision makers to create a more sustainable and informed future.
